It all started when I moved to London 6 years ago. I was a nomadic soul waiting to be freed. Finally I graduated and got a job and started on my journey. It was the initial ’30 before 30’ challenge that prompted me to go see more places and with 6 years to go, I rushed and absolutely loved the lifestyle.
The rush of a new place, strangers turning into friends and tasting food that reminds you of home in a strange place are all experiences I live for! I noticed the positive effect travelling had on my depression, which I was struggling to manage before and today I look back and feel thankful to all those people who shared the journey with me and made me who I am today.
I live in London and work in an investment bank on full time basis and in the rest of the time I am a hippie who loves travelling, cooking, yoga, beaches, sunsets, environmental sustainability, purring cats and silent dogs, dancing, writing and making friends..
Why ‘Brown’ Boy Travels?
I felt it was important to convey my experience as a person of colour because I felt a lot of my friends were scared to travel because they weren’t sure about the ‘actual’ level of racism in a country. So here is a brief account of how safe I felt as a brown person and how discriminated I was against. I hope it will persuade more people to travel like it does to my friends.
Is this a GAY Travel Blog?
YYes and No! Yes because I am gay and No because I don’t travel to attend Pride parades, go to exclusively gay beaches and clubs and take shirtless photos with half naked, muscly guys in clubs. Nothing against it, it just isn’t my style. I travel to explore the places and meet everyone instead of living in a gay bubble; I think the best way to show people being gay is not about sex only.
