Hippie Inside, Solo Gay Travel Blogger Outside!
I grew up in a boarding school since I was 6, the claustrophobia was real. After I graduated from Masters I took a trip to Munich to see a good friend and that trip changed my whole life. I felt like a free bird and I never looked back at life the same way. Gay travel changed my life!
I am a hippie inside who gave up on dreams of a big fancy house, traditional life and boring social status symbols. Most of my holiday and money goes towards travelling and I started this blog to share my experiences with other people.
The rush of a new place, strangers turning into friends and tasting food that reminds you of home in a strange place are all experiences I live for! I am thankful to all those people who shared the journey with me and made me who I am today sometimes by just being there and listening to me. I live in London and work in a bank on a full-time basis and in the rest of the time, I am a hippie who loves travelling, cooking, yoga, beaches, sunsets, environmental sustainability, purring cats and silent dogs, new adventures, writing and making friends…
Why ‘Brown’ Boy Travels?
I felt it was important to convey my experience as a person of colour because I felt a lot of my friends were scared to travel because they weren’t sure about the ‘actual’ level of racism in a country. So here is a brief account of how safe I felt as a brown person and how discriminated I was against. I hope it will persuade more people to travel like it does to my friends.
I am a huge fan of Mevlana Rumi and my favourite quote of his is my inspiration:
“Don’t be satisfied with stories, how things have gone with others. Unfold your own myth.” ~ Rumi
